Jim and I rented bikes and explored Perth this afternoon. What a great day! We stopped inside Queen’s Park to see the famous black swans and cygnets and then rode on fantastic bike paths around much of the Swan River. We passed Trinity College with its ideal location on the Swan, stopped at the new modern Swan Tower, which houses bells from St. Martin’s in the Fields, and sped by a handful of new luxury flats for sale before stopping for a quick tuna sandwich at a local café on the dock. Afterwards we took off for Matilda Bay and Western Australia University on the other side of the loop. The perfect sunny weather (low 20s C or mid 70sF), along with a constant cooling breeze on the best bike paths we’ve encountered made the day simply splendid.
