I visited a modern grocery store (Julius Meinl), where Czech and imported goods were on sale, and bought two 1000 ml bottles of Pellegrino (Italian sparkling water), three Chiquita bananas, two medium white grapefruits and .478 kg (imagine two large handfuls) of white seeded grapes. All of this cost just 121.20 Czech crown or about US$3.50. Price this at your local market and you’ll realize how inexpensive things are in the Czech Republic.
