On a walk, I witnessed several people in wheelchairs staging a protest on a main street. Friends rolled the people in wheelchairs to the front of several buses and this action halted traffic on the busy street. Police arrived to direct traffic and one officer tried to move a man in one of the wheelchairs. The man then threw himself from the wheelchair onto the street in front of the bus.
I learned later from a local that a week prior a bus driver turned a wheelchair passenger away because the bus was not properly fit to carry the passenger safely.
