San Marino is one of the smallest countries in the world – only 23 sq. miles in size. 25,000 population. They produce their own coinage and postage stamps and have their own army and police force.

Income tax here but tax-free shopping for tourists. We bought postcards and San Marino stamps and mailed them home. Jim and I were both surprised a town could survive selling only postcards, stamps and seedy souvenirs, but San Marino continues.
