We visited a downtown Korean restaurant, where we ate fabulous food and drink. We entered and took our shoes off before sitting on the floor at our table. Then we ordered Korean beer and Jim ordered a liquor that tasted like vodka. When the waitress brought the food, there seemed to be so much more than what we ordered. The ‘fire beef’ cooked in a hot pot in the center of the table included mushrooms, onions and beef, which we rolled in green leaf lettuce with a red pepper and garlic sauce – this was yummy. A salad that looked like spring-time grass was fabulous. The dressing was a mixture of brown vinegar, sugar and garlic. We also ordered crab with rice and vegetables with rice. The crab was covered in red pepper and Jim ate this. I lucked into the veggies with rice, which came in a hot stone bowl. The rice sat at the bottom of the bowl with vegetables on top and a raw egg yolk in the middle.

I thought this looked odd but started to eat the veggies with my silver chopsticks. The waitress came over and showed me how to make my dish much better – she mixed it all up. Very simple stuff but if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can miss out. Once this was blended together, I ate the best fried rice I’ve ever had.
